Friday 01 April 2016 to Saturday 30 April 2016

The British Council and Silver Rain Radio Station are pleased to announce the Young Shakespeare competition results. The winner will take part in a three-week English course in Buckswood Overseas Summer School (UK).

The young participants of the competition were asked to take on the role of Shakespeare and write a short play in Russian. The choice of topic was up to the author: it could have been the playwright’s own experiences, friends, school, or global problems – about anything and everything that is exciting and moving.

The competition is a part of the “Shakespeariad”: a series of creative challenges and competitions for Shakespeare fans; it is one of the core projects of the UK-Russia Year of Language and Literature 2016 and Shakespeare Lives programme.

All submissions were evaluated by an expert panel comprised of British Council, Silver Rain and Buckswood Overseas Summer School employees. The overall winner was selected by Buckswood Overseas Summer School after a short interview with 3 finalists.
