No other director is as synonymous with the thriller as Alfred Hitchcock. He transformed a genre into an art form and, through an increasingly complex visual language, explored the darker nature of our behaviour. Using examples from his films, this talk will show how Hitchcock created suspense and employed a visual style that reinforced his belief that the filmmaker should «show, don’t tell».
