Yulia Idlis is a participant of the 18th International Book Fair for High-Quality Fiction and Non-Fiction, where the United Kingdom will be the Country of Honour this year as a part of the UK-Russia Year of Language and Literature 2016.
About the Speaker
Yulia Idlis is a Russian screenwriter, journalist, writer and lecturer. She got her philology degree from Moscow State University and wrote a PhD thesis on Harold Pinter’s screenplays. She has published three books of poems and a book “Runet: created idols”, a journalist research on the development of Russian blogosphere. She was an editor of the cultural section in “Russian Reporter”. In 2012 within the framework of Perm Theatre and Film Festival “Texture” she arranged a number of public talks with artists (project “Storytelling in different media”). In 2014 she graduated from the Screenwriting course of the Moscow Film School. She is a co-author of the scripts for “Fartsa” series, adventure drama “Adventurers” and the documentary series “Tolstoy family: a great dynasty”. She taught screenwriting at Creative Writing School and Alexandr Molchanov’s Screenwriting Studio.
