We invite English teachers to the British Council office in Moscow to the seminar Don’t Cry For Me, Aunty Tina: Navigating Listening Through Decoding.
We are all familiarwith listening activities which encourage prediction skills. However, research suggests the real key to successful listening comprehension is an ability to decode phonological features, which is often challenging for students. In this workshop, we will provide practical activities to help students get to grips with these features. Examples are taken from Navigate, but are widely applicable.

Rachael Roberts, Coursebook Author (B1 + and B2) Rachael Roberts has been an ELT teacher, trainer and writer for over 20 years, with experience in both the private and public sectors, in the UK and abroad. Her publications include General English coursebooks for adults and upper secondary, as well as coursebooks for IELTS. She holds a Cambridge Diploma in TEFLA and an MA in ELT (Distinction) from Warwick.
