British Council Russia, the Documentary Film Centre and the school of foreign languages, BKC-IH are pleased to announce the opening of the new season of the «Educational Saturday» project. This year, we decided to mix study with pleasure and turn our traditional screening of contemporary films into useful English language lessons.
Experienced teachers from BKC-IN will discuss episodes of the films with the audience and moreover, will help viewers to understand modern-day slang, as well as the elegant speech of the last century.
As part of Educational Saturday you will be able to:
- discover the world of British cinema;
- interact with native speakers;
- consult with BKC-IH teachers.
22 November at 17:00 at the Documentary Film Centre (Zubowski bulvar, 2) we will hold a screening of short films made between 1940 and 1945 that offer some fascinating insights into war-time Britain, portraying its industry, its landscapes and its people. The compilation is taken from the British Council Film Collection of over 120 short documentaries.
The programme will be shown without translation. After the showcase, a meeting and discussion of the films will be held with one of the most experienced teachers from the BKC MBA Centre — Curt Millen.
