Wayne McGregor | Random Dance’s Atomos will be featured as part of the 20 th Jubilee Golden Mask Theatre Festival. The Premiere in Moscow will be supported by a full educational programme of talks, master-classes, and seminars.
Atomos received its world premiere at Sadler’s Wells in October 2013 and got rave reviews from critics and audiences alike. According to The Daily Telegraph the piece is «stuffed full of ideas, structurally complex and at the very cutting edge of technology.It is also extremely beautiful».It is a full-length work and continues choreographer Wayne McGregor’s ongoing exploration of scientific ideas and principles. Atomising bodies, movement and film, it features a cast of ten dancers, set against a backdrop devised by a collective of hand-picked artists including long time collaborators lighting designer Lucy Carter and filmmaker Ravi Deepres.
Neo-classical ambient composers, A Winged Victory For The Sullen provide a newly composed score and costumes are designed by cutting edge design house Studio XO, whose work includes ground breaking wearable technologies and «digital skins».
The Russian premiere will be complemented by an extensive educational programme of seminars and master-classes.

Wayne McGregor | Random Dance was founded in 1992 and became the instrument upon which McGregor evolved his fast and articulate choreographic style. With collaboration at the centre of his practice, McGregor has innovated new work with world class artists including composers Scanner, Jon Hopkins and Ben Frost; visual artists Mark Wallinger and rAndom International; and film-makers Jane and Louise Wilson and Ravi Deepres.
Collaboration with science and technology communities has also fuelled choreography mined from radical cognitive research processes. This unique, tenacious questioning between artists and artistic mediums, across the interface of science and art, through the body and mind, has ensured that Wayne McGregor | Random Dance has remained at the forefront of contemporary arts for the past 20 years.
