The workshop will focus on the controversy of teaching for real communication and teaching for exams. The ideas will be discussed on how the two goals can be merged thanks to in-built online progress tests, mid-term and end-of-the-term tests automatically scored by LMS. The tools allow to direct students to individualised extra practice online according to their scores in continuous assessment as it is illustrated by the new multilevel Cambridge course «Empower».
