Climate change, migration, disability, homelessness and gender are just some of the subjects explored in The Uncertain Kingdom. This ground-breaking anthology of short films from visionary UK filmmakers offers a unique portrait of the UK today and bringing together artists working across film, TV, theatre, animation, dance and radio.
The Uncertain Kingdom short films encompass a huge variety of genre, form, theme, style and tone and are as diverse as the group of filmmakers behind them. Whether political or personal, macro or micro, all the films give a bright flash of insight into how the filmmakers see the UK now.
The Uncertain Kingdom was conceived by director and executive producer John Jencks and produced by Isabel Freer and Georgia Goggin. The British Council and the Cultural and Education Section of the British Embassy in Moscow are the partners for the international screening in Russia of 9 selected films from The Uncertain Kingdom collection specifically for this festival.
Films will be introduced by Francesca Carr, Film Team Coordinator at the British Council London.
