Within the UK-Russia Creative Bridge 2020-21 programme Innovative Humanitarian Projects NGO and Prosodia online media on poetry will present for the first-time texts of selected contemporary UK poets in Russian translation. These include texts by Moniza Alvi, Sean O’Brien, Sasha Dugdale, Frank Ormsby, Paul Muldoon, Sinéad Morrissey, John Burnside, Michael Longley, Lavinia Greenlaw, Liz Berry, Roger Robinson and J. O. Morgan.  

The project aims to present to wider Russian audiences a broad overview of contemporary British poetry in all its varieties of genre, forms and trends. Each selection is accompanied by an essay introducing the author.

Contemporary British Poetry in Russian Perception Conference

On 20 February 2021 a conference called Contemporary British Poetry in Russian Perception will take place, consisting of two parts: ‘theory’ and ‘practice’. The first part of the conference will include talks on the current state of contemporary British poetry compared with Russia. The second part will be devoted to a presentation of the new Russian translations of selected verses. Among the speakers will be some of the UK authors.
