The programme is aimed to enable Russian education specialists to work with experienced professors from UCL Institute of Education — one of the World's best schools, — on the student-centred learning paradigm today: its impact on technology, school strategic management and instructional design approaches.

The programme consists of two lectures for curriculum designers, teachers and managers, and one workshop for leaders of educational institutions. You can attend all events or one of your choice.

All classes will be held online (Zoom) with simultaneous translation, free and available after registration. There will be a selection for the workshop based on a motivation letter.

The programme is supported by the Department of Culture and Education of the British Embassy in Moscow within the UK-Russia Creative Bridge 2020-21 programme.

Lecture: the interaction of learner-centered design with educational technology 

  • how we can achieve students’ active engagement in learning with online pedagogies
  • the Conversational Framework, developed from research studies on how students learn
  • the Learning Designer — an online design tool for teachers

Speaker: prof. Diana Laurillard, professor of Learning with Digital Technologies at the London Knowledge Lab, UCL Institute of Education.

February 4, 2021 6 - 7pm (Moscow time)
Lecture: strategic leadership & management in education 

  • what strategy is and why it is important
  • leadership and management
  • а strategic development process, a strategic plan
  • review and identification of success criteria

Speaker: prof. Ian Craig, visiting professor at UCL Institute of Education (IOE), University of Buckingham and UU School of Education, Dissertation Examiner for the University of London.

February 6, 2021 12 - 3pm
workshop: strategic implementation in education 

  • 7 elements and steps of the strategic development process: purpose, values, positioning, vision, analyses, focus, etc.
  • tools to build it up together
