The British Council is inviting applications to attend the conference of independent music festivals – AIF Festival Congress – on 30-31 October 2017 as part of a Russian delegation.

This call for applications is part of the British Council’s Future Culture programme.

AIF Festival Congress

The  Association  of  Independent Festivals (AIF) is  the  UK’s leading for not for profit festival trade association. Founded in 2008 by Rob Da Bank (Bestival) and Ben Turner (Graphite Media), AIF operates as an autonomous division of the Association of Independent Music (AIM). Members range from the 1,500-capacity Barn on the Farm to the 60,000 capacity Boomtown Fair and include the likes of Bestival, Shambala, Victorious and many more.

There are several different strands to the organisation including uniting an exciting network of independent festivals promoters through members meetings, campaigns and lobbying, producing high quality conferences and training events and providing business and legal support services.

Festival Congress is AIF’s annual flagship event and the largest gathering of independent festival promoters in the UK, attracting over 400 music industry delegates each year. It offers unique networking opportunities alongside a platform for industry discussion and celebration. It has a progressive format, including the ‘Talking Heads’ TED x style talks, interactive workshops and fireside chats with industry experts.
